\"\"<\/a>We look forward to the sixtieth anniversary of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II this June and celebrate\u00a0a fantastic achievement with her. Her dedication and service to people has been\u00a0huge and\u00a0touched so many people in a positive\u00a0way across the world.<\/p>\n

I was out walking\u00a0on New Year’s day and noticed the inscription on the monument that you see in the picture. It reads:<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

“Erected in commemoration of the sixtieth year of Queen Victoria’s reign.”<\/p>\n

So long service is not something new to the Royal family. It makes us appreciate that some people whether through birth or sheer commitment to a cause place the importance of their service above all else.<\/p>\n

So as we acknowledge The Queen’s major achievement, perhaps we should look to ourselves and ask what we stand for, what service have we provided, what we could still do? Whilst 60 years will be beyond the reach of most of us\u00a0this is no reason not to put our efforts into something that will\u00a0benefit others. Even if\u00a0the time we can afford is small it can make such a difference.<\/p>\n

So, in this year that reminds us of the true dedication of one special person, is now a good time to step forward too? We all have something to\u00a0offer – don’t keep yours hidden.<\/p>\n

Whilst there is no guarantee of a large granite stone memorial on the top of a hill, you may just leave a smile on a the face of someone who you made feel special.<\/p>\n
